Tribute to Derek McCulloch
Dr Derek McCulloch is stepping down from the Windsor Fringe Committee.
He joined the Fringe soon after it started in 1969 and has been, with his wife Jenny, a prominent and enthusiastic member.
Apart from helping to put the programme together each year, Derek has also run classical events, managing Café Mozart and The Windsor Box and Fir Company, with music from the late 18C on original instruments and with many pieces dug out of archives, such as the music of the Earl of Abingdon, Haydn’s English visits, Jane Austens collection at Chawton and much else. These concerts at the Dungeon, although not the usual Fringe tradition, have always sold out.
Derek has always contributed wisdom, scholarship and humour to our proceedings and will be greatly missed.
The Fringe are grateful to the Windsor Lions

Who are the Lions?
The Lions Club of Windsor is a group of 30 men and women from all backgrounds who are joined by their desire to serve the community.
Windsor Lions raise money in the local community for the local community via our annual Horseride in Windsor Great Park, and our annual Swimathon.
Together these events bring in around £60,000 each year. All of that is donated to good causes and used to fund our Community Service work. Apart from supporting Windsor Fringes, we also make donations to local charities including Windsor Mencap, SportsAble and Thames HospiceCare amongst many others. In addition we also work with local needy families and individuals who require a helping hand along the way. This can be via financial support or hands-on assistance.
Our Community Service work sees us regularly driving a minibus for MENCAP, staging a FunFest for children with disabilities, plus staging our Prostate Cancer Awareness event. We have recently launched our Message in a Wallet to compliment the successful Message in a Bottle.
Windsor Lions is part of Lions Clubs International, which has over 1.5 Million members worldwide. Some of our fundraising is directed to international work with donations to national disasters around the world.
