Pick up a free entry map from Brewhouse Yard and follow the trail for a unique chance to see objects related to our feathery friends on display in our museums and galleries. Find out more about their importance to individuals across the globe and throughout history.

Guided walk: The History of Windsor’s Pubs and Breweries

This guided walk takes in the history of Windsor’s breweries and pubs including the sites of some of the more notorious pubs such as The Spread Eagle in George Street and the Black Horse Inn in Park Street. Hear about the Royal Standard pub which once operated within the walls of Windsor Castle plus dark deeds in town centre pubs including one where the landlady was deported to Australia for her crimes!

Starring Penélope Cruz, this is the story of two mothers who bond in an unexpected way after giving birth on the same day. Both are single and became pregnant by accident. The few words they exchange in these hours will create a close link between the two, which develops, complicates and changes their lives in a decisive way.

Val Rylands Exhibition

This is a special Windsor Fringe event to celebrate the life of local photographer Val Rylands, which will include a photographic exhibition and a showing of a short BBC Film he made of a student expedition to Greenland.

Following the death of her beloved grandmother, 8-year-old Nelly accompanies her parents to her mother’s childhood home to begin the difficult process of cleaning out its contents. As Nelly explores the house and nearby woods, she is immediately drawn to a neighbour her own age. What follows is a tender tale of childhood grief, memory and connection.

Wonder Dome Planetarium: A Free Family Friendly Mobile Planetarium Show

Join us for a Super Space Sunday in one of the 25 minute sessions offered to take a trip into the wonders of space! Wonderdome is an inflatable planetarium. Inside there is specialised visual and audio equipment which projects onto the inside of the planetarium giving a 360-degree experience which totally immerses the visitor into a wonderful experience of the universe! 

All sessions are led by presenters who are passionate about space

 

Critical Thinking For Global Society

In this deep and engaging talk, Doctoral Researcher Natasha Robson will take you on a journey through different aspects of the mind: from processes of meaning-making right up to large-scale cultural conditioning; from the most internal to the broadest external aspects of our thinking, and give you an insight into how you can maintain your personal autonomy and also protect our fragile collective ideal of democracy.

The Music & Words Club

A bi-monthly (2nd and 4th Thursday of the month) gathering of musicians / poets / singers / composers / electronic music makers / beat boxers and just about anybody who has some original material to showcase.
